A ground-breaking new awards scheme which recognises the online achievements of businesses, schools and charities from across Hertfordshire, has been backed by some of the county’s leading newspapers.
The Hertfordshire Digital Awards (HDAs) – which is now open to enter and offers gold, silver and bronze prizes for excellence across ten categories – revealed this week that they have entered a partnership with a leading newspaper group which will support the competition.
The Hertfordshire Mercury Group, which owns the Hertfordshire Mercury, North Herts Advertiser, Herts and Essex Observer and Herts and Lea Valley Star has signed up as media partners for the scheme.
It is the first time that organisations from Hertfordshire will be able to compete for a range of accolades based solely upon their work online and entry into the scheme opened in January, 2015.
The newspapers will provide coverage of the HDAs until after the Winners’ Evening in September and provide significant publicity opportunities for sponsors of the scheme.
The HDAs are free to enter and it takes less than two minutes to complete an online application at www.hertsdigitalawards.co.uk
“Use of Social Media”, “Website” and “Mobile App” are just three of the categories to be judged by an independent panel of experts from the digital arena.
The other categories include “Use of Video For Business”, “Online Marketing Campaign”, “School, Education or Charity Website”, “Responsive Website”, “Small Business Website” and the blue ribbon accolade for “Online Business”.
Andy Pritchard, from Premio64, the organisation behind the awards said: “We are very excited about working with the Hertfordshire Mercury group of newspapers.
“These newspapers are first and fastest to deliver breaking news in the county through their website and social media channels and are a superb partner for our scheme.”
Entries can now be made for free in less than two minutes at www.hertsdigitalawards.co.uk/enter
The closing date for entries is July 17, 2015 and a special awards evening will be held on September 24.
Details of the venue will be unveiled exclusively on www.hertsdigitalawards.co.uk shortly.
