TV star and stand-up comedian James Redmond is to perform at the Kent Digital Awards Winners’ Evening, organisers revealed this week.
The son of Grange Hill and Brookside creator, Phil Redmond, will deliver a comedy routine at the inaugural KDA on June 18 at Urban Village Resort, Maidstone.
The 43-year-old made his name in TV shows such as Hollyoaks and Casualty.
He also presented SM:TV and CD:UK alongside Cat Deeley in the early 2000s and began stand-up comedy in 2009 to rave reviews.
Described as “a dry, slick and subtle stand up who delivers unexpected twists and turns during his set as he deconstructs his art”, Mr Redmond also once modelled with the likes of Kate Moss.
Iain Johnson, from Premio64, the organisers behind the awards said: “The Digital Awards family is getting a bit of a reputation for booking hilarious comedians and we’re really looking forward to meeting James and seeing him perform.
“It’s going to be a great night”.
A small number of tickets are still available for the Kent Digital Awards Winners’ Evening, which includes a 2-course meal and presentation of Gold, Silver and Bronze awards to businesses, schools and charities from across the county.

The KDA – which is backed by the Kent & Sussex Courier and the Hobbs Parker Group – is the first and only awards scheme of it’s kind in the county to solely recognise online work.
