KENT: KDA17 Winners Announced

Charities, schools and businesses across Kent have been recognised for their progressive online work at the third annual Kent Digital Awards.

Accolades across 14 categories including “Website”, “Mobile App” and “Use of Social Media for Business” were presented to outstanding organisations at Ashford International Hotel on June 1.

Former BBC broadcaster Robin Bailey hosted and handed Gold, Silver and Bronze prizes to a host of worthy winners.

Special guests included Pete Kenyon, from Headline Sponsor Cripps, Mark Dance, Cabinet Minister for Economic Development at Kent County Council, Stuart Tanton of The Kent Foundation, and Clare Reeves of Clare Reeves Voiceovers, all of whom presented awards.

The Kent Digital Awards was set up in 2015 solely to showcase online work from across the county.

Celebrating a total of six awards including three Golds was Maidstone digital agency Ether Creative who clinched the top awards in “Mobile App” for the mountaineering project Whympr, “Responsive Website” for Get In The Mood and “Website: School, Education or Charity” for Heritage Watch (Kent).

Also scoring a hatrick of Gold awards was Tunbridge Wells web design company ifour who came out on top the overall “Website” category for their work on behalf of kitchen specialists Jones Britain, in “Online Retailer” for premium gift brand Cocoapod, and in “Use of Social Media for Business” for their own accounts.

Seeing double on the night was Canterbury web designers Red Bullet who were victorious in “Website: Lifestyle & Culture” for Kent Connected and in “Website: Sports & Entertainment” owing to their build for Cancer Research Winter Run Series.

The Kent Digital Awards 2017 was supported by Cripps (Headline Sponsor), Kent County Council, West Kent Chamber of Commerce and Industry, The Kent Foundation, Clare Reeves Voiceovers, Sleeping Giant Media, Tonbridge and Malling Borough Council, Kent Connects, Capricorn Media and Kent and Sussex Courier.

Tunbridge Wells agency Curve Interactive topped the podium in “Use of Video for Business” and Pillory Barn, in Maidstone, cleaned up in “Website: B2B” for their design for the Kent and Medway Growth Hub.

On a very good night for Maidstone “Website: Small Business” was picked up by GeoMedia while Maidstone Museum by The Hideout, based in Ulcombe, won the “Website: Tourism & Hospitality” gong.

Gold in the “Blog” classification was landed by Muddy Stilettos Kent for their lifestyle portal and Larrytech came out on top for Tunbridge Wells with Gold in “Website: Marketing & Creative”.

Head Judge and KDA17 Host Robin Bailey described the event as a “thrilling night”.

“What a sensational celebration the Kent Digital Awards has been once again and thank you so much to Cripps for getting behind it in such a big way.

“More entries than ever and so much superb talent from all walks of life in one room, celebrating digital and celebrating Kent, absolutely fantastic.”

KENT: Cripps Unveiled as Headline Sponsor of KDA17

Award-winning law firm Cripps has agreed a deal to become Headline Sponsor of Kent Digital Awards 2017.

The top-tier Legal 500 firm, which has offices in Tunbridge Wells, Kings Hill and London, will present the flagship “Website” award at KDA17.

It is the first time Cripps has been involved with the KDAs and marks their ongoing commitment to supporting Kent’s business community and the digital arena.

In the past year Cripps itself has won a raft of accolades at industry events including the City Wealth Future Leaders Awards 2016, Kent Invicta Chamber of Commerce Annual Business Awards 2016 and South East Dealmakers Awards 2017.

Cripps has also been awarded “Top Ranking” by Chambers and Partners UK, a comprehensive annual guide to the legal profession.

As a key regional law firm, Cripps has a team of around 350 and offers a rare combination of expertise across both personal and commercial law. This includes advising on matters such as, employment law, commercial contracts and dispute resolution, debt recovery, insolvency claims, corporate transactions and restructuring, legal advice for directors, IT, IP, partnerships and professional practices, wills and probate planning, family law and commercial and residential property.

Its full range of services is listed on Cripps.co.uk alongside blogs, a news feed and resources for understanding the law and developments relating to Brexit.

As well as its well resourced website, Cripps offers regular information, insight and links on Twitter through @CrippsLaw

The firm is a great supporter of the Kent community and is a member of the West Kent Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Kent Invicta Chamber of Commerce and the Federation of Small Businesses.

In 2016, Cripps raised £16,000 for its chosen charity of the year, Alzheimer’s Society and in 2017 is supporting the Teenage Cancer Trust.

As Headline Sponsor of KDA17, Cripps will take a prominent position at the Presentation Evening on June 1 at Ashford International Hotel.

Pete Kenyon, partner and head of the firm’s advertising, technology and media sector group, explained why Cripps chose to get involved with the third annual Kent Digital Awards.

“Digital is an essential part of business strategy from new customer acquisition to driving loyalty and continuously improving the customer experience.

“At Cripps we work with clients to achieve their business (or personal) goals and understand how deeply important digital channels are for them.

“We’re excited to support the Kent Digital Awards and encourage companies across the county to enter so they can be recognised and rewarded for their creative and progressive thinking.

“This is a great way to help raise their profile and to showcase how digital media can be used as a way of driving a business forward.”

Robin Bailey Chairman of the KDA Judging panel said: “We are delighted to announce the appointment of Cripps as Headline Sponsor of the Kent Digital Awards 2017.

“Cripps is a very successful law firm which is highly respected across Kent and further afield.

“Through the Kent Digital Awards, Cripps will be able to build upon their strong relationships with the Kent business community and align themselves with the Digital Awards brand, which stands for progression, collaboration and best practice.”

In a refreshingly distinctive way Cripps describes how it works with clients in a simple booklet which can be accessed here http://my.page-flip.co.uk/00000013/00012513/00089162/

As Pete says “At Cripps we’re focused on delivering the human face of law whether it’s through our website, on social media, via emails or in person. We’re people first and lawyers second and that’s why so many of our clients come back to us year after year.”
