KENT: KDA17 Finalists Announced

The finalists of the Kent Digital Awards 2017 have been announced and tickets for the Presentation Evening are now available.

The remaining entrants in each category are now in with a chance of clinching Gold, Silver and Bronze awards at the third KDA dinner ceremony on June 1, at Ashford International Hotel, Ashford.

Tickets are on sale now and are expected to go quickly, following last year’s sell-out event.

The KDA team claim the event will be a “an amazing celebration”, with networking and entertainment lined up alongside the awards presentation.

Presenting awards at the Presentation Evening will be Headline Sponsor Cripps alongside a number of influential organisations across the county.

KDA17 is also supported by Kent County Council, West Kent Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Kent Connects, The Kent Foundation, Sleeping Giant Media, Tonbridge & Malling Borough Council and Clare Reeves Voiceovers.

The Kent Digital Awards 2017 Presentation Evening will include an arrival drink, two-course meal and a complimentary third of a bottle of wine person.

The event will be hosted by the former BBC presenter Robin Bailey.

The KDAs is the first and only scheme within the county dedicated to celebrating the online achievements of businesses, schools and charities.

SURREY: SDA17 Winners Revealed

THE online achievements of businesses, charities and schools across Surrey have been celebrated at the third annual Digital Awards.

Honours across 15 categories including “Website”, “Blog”, “Mobile App” and “Use of Social Media for Business” were presented to progressive organisations at the HG Wells Conference and Events Centre in Woking, on March 9.

Hosting SDA17 was former BBC presenter Robin Bailey who handed Gold, Silver and Bronze prizes to a host of worthy winners.

Special guests included Mark Pearson, from Headline Sponsor, Surrey County Council, Cllr Saj Hussain from Woking Works, Louise Punter from Surrey Chambers of Commerce, Steve Coburn of projectfive and Neil Langston of Nero Blanco, all of whom presented awards.

The Surrey Digital Awards was set up in 2015 solely to showcase online work from across the county.

Leading the way on stage with double gold were Farnham-based design agency and IT firm Ansell & Clarke who picked up the top prize in “Online Retailer” and “Website: Small Business” for their work on behalf of designer swimwear retailer Coco Bay.

Clinching gold in the flagship “Website” classification was Dorking vineyard and venue Denbies Wine Estate.

TG Media Group, in Guildford, landed on top of the podium in “Use of Social Media for Business” for their Guide To Surrey digital accounts.

Father and online writer, John Adams, won gold in the “Blog” category for Dadbloguk.com and the top “Mobile App” gong went to Forfeit Football by Sonin App Development, based in Reigate.

The independent SDA judges chose Guildford designer and app developer Kyan as the gold winner in “Responsive Website” and Content Creatures for their Happy Socks project in the “Use of Video for Business”.

Shippo by WATB Creative, in Nutfield, came out on top in the “Website: B2B” area and Somlo by Plug and Play in “Website: Lifestyle & Culture”.

Posy Brewer – The VoiceOver Voice took the plaudits in “Website: Marketing and Creative” and Lumen Learning Trust Academy in “Website: School, Education or Charity”.

Also winning gold awards were Anthony Philipson by Thunderbolt Digital, in Farnham, for “Website: Sports and Entertainment” and Dorking web designer OH Creative for Spanish catering firm Paella Fella.

For the first time in Digital Awards history, a People’s Choice Award – voted by the public for finalists in all website categories – was won by disabled children’s charity Challengers.

The “Spirit of Surrey” award, which is given to one organisation chosen for “attracting significantly positive exposure and investment into the county” was presented to the 5G Innovation Centre, University of Surrey, which is the world’s leading research centre for next generation mobile and wireless connectivity.

CAMBRIDGESHIRE: CDA16 Winners Announced

THE online achievements of businesses, charities and schools across Cambridgeshire have been celebrated at the second annual Digital Awards.

Accolades across 15 categories including “Website”, “Mobile App” and “Use of Social Media for Business” were presented to deserving organisations at the Cambridge Belfry, in Cambourne, on November 24.

Compering the event was former BBC broadcaster Robin Bailey who presented Gold, Silver and Bronze prizes to a host of worthy winners.

Special guests included Tim Dunton, from Headline Sponsor, Nimbus Hosting, Noelle Godfrey from Connecting Cambridgeshire, Cllr Ian Bates from Cambridgeshire County Council and Laura Welham-Halstead of Greater Cambridge and Greater Peterborough Enterprise Partnership, all of whom presented awards.

Steve Bowyer delivered an insightful keynote speech on behalf of Opportunity Peterborough, who backed the Awards for the first time this year.

The Cambridgeshire Digital Awards was set up in 2015 solely to showcase online work.

Leading the way on stage were a pair of winners who both saw double after scooping Gold across two separate categories.

BAO Agency, from St Ives, won Gold in the overall “Website” category and claimed top spot in “Website: Small Business” for their work on behalf of women’s designer fashion retailer The Cult & Classic.

Also claiming double-Gold was Hype Marketing in “Website B2B” and “Responsive Website” celebrating their achievements for Histon accountancy firm Aston Shaw.

Bridges Café, in central Cambridge, scooped the top accolade in the “Use of Social Media for Business” category for the second year running.

“Blog:Business” Gold went to Comberton-based OST Marketing who entered their work for the global animal health company Zoetis.

Across in “Blog: Entertainment” top spot on the podium was taken by lifestyle writer Musings & More and “Online Retailer” Gold was landed by Cambridge Saxophone.

Alzheimer’s Research UK won Gold in the highly competitive “Website: School, Education or Charity” classification and “Use of Video for Business” went to Willingham-based Imagen EVP.

Pocket Sergeant was recognised for its “Mobile App”, adding Gold to their Silver won last year and “Website: Marketing & Creative” saw the independent judging panel pick Sookio for the top place.

Peterborough design agency, Echo Web Solutions won out in “Website: Sports & Entertainment” for Gymkit UK and Cambridge Food Collective by Callia Web won in “Website: Lifestyle & Culture”.

Sponsoring and supporting the event were Nimbus Hosting, Greater Cambridge/Greater Peterborough Enterprise Partnership, Connecting Cambridgeshire, Cambridge News, Opportunity Peterborough, South Cambridgeshire District Council, Department for International Trade, Clare Reeves Voiceovers and Capricorn Media.

There was also a ‘Spirit of Cambridgeshire’ award which was handed to the Cambridge Folk Festival, celebrating its 51st year of bringing some of the world’s most revered singers and bands to the county.

They were commended for “going above and beyond the call of duty over many years for the betterment and promotion of Cambridgeshire” and more recently for their digital work.

Excitement soars towards fever pitch as the big night draws closer…the Cambridgeshire Digital Awards 2016 is now just one day away.

SURREY: County Council Backs SDAs For Third Year

 

The Digital Awards team is thrilled to announce that Surrey County Council is offering its support for a third year.

Since day one the county council has backed the Surrey Digital Awards, which was set up in 2015 to celebrate the online achievements of businesses, charities and schools from across the county.

Deputy Leader Peter Martin, will present the “Website” category at the SDA17 Presentation Evening in March next year.

Mr Martin described Surrey as the “one of most digitally advanced counties in the UK”.

He added: “Surrey is a digital leader and these awards give businesses, charities and schools from across the county a great opportunity to receive recognition for the brilliant work they are doing.”

The Surrey Digital Awards is open to businesses from any industry and digital agencies from inside Surrey may enter their client’s work, even if the client is outside of the county.

Entry is now open for the SDA17across 15 categories and anticipation is building about who will claim the prestigious “Spirit of Surrey” award in the Spring, following the success of Brooklands Museum this year.

Robin Bailey, the Chairman of the SDA Judging panel, said: “It is no secret that Surrey is a hotbed of digital talent and is a base for some of the most exciting technology companies in the world.

“It is fantastic news for the SDAs to continue to receive the council’s support and we will continue to shine a spotlight on Surrey’s brightest digital talent.”

Special guests included Scott Kirk, from print media partner One MK, Ian Stuart, the Managing Director of Heart Four Counties radio, Pam Gosal from Invest Milton Keynes and Geoff Snelson from Milton Keynes Council who presented awards.

The Milton Keynes Digital Awards was set up in 2015 solely to showcase online work.

Leading the way on stage were a pair of winners who saw double after scooping Gold across two separate categories.

Digital marketing agency Interdirect won the top prize for their work on behalf of Willen Hospice in the flagship “Website” category and again in the “Website: Tourism & Hospitality” classification for a website they created for Grand Central Birmingham.

While ebullient foreign language teacher, Lindsay Does Languages, picked up Golds in “Blog: Business” and “Use of Social Media for Business”.

Bombinate Web Design, in Foxhunter Drive, landed Gold in the “Website: Small Business” area and Silbury Boulevard designer Red Giraffe took the plaudits in “Website: Marketing & Creative”.

Also walking away with top-placed accolades were Loughton developer Vusiem for a “Mobile App” they created for the British Museum and Cranfield-based SOtechnology who won “Responsive Website” with a project for Building Transformation.

Milton Keynes Kids made the top of the podium in the “Blog: Entertainment” category and Visual Identity Creative won Gold in “Online Retailer” through a site for Premium footwear firm Barker Shoes.

The Gold in “Use of Video for Business” was presented to Wise Guys for a film about Milton Keynes Museum and the top award in “Website: Lifestyle & Culture” was picked up by Aubergine for their Dhaniya Authentic Indian Cooking project.

“Website: B2B” Gold was won by Redhouse Park web designer westfourstreet and the top accolade in “Website: School, Education or Charity” was presented to Supershoes by Amasci Creative.

MKDA16 was supported by OneMK, Heart Four Counties, Invest Milton Keynes, Milton Keynes Council, Capricorn Media and Clare Reeves Voiceovers.

There was also a “Spirit of Milton Keynes” award which was handed to Milton Keynes based musical equipment giant Marshall Amplification who have provided amps for members of The Who, Blur, Oasis and ACDC to name but a few.

They were commended for ‘going above and beyond the call of duty for the betterment and promotion of Milton Keynes’ through their digital work and local sponsorship support.

HERTFORDSHIRE: HDA16 Presentation Evening Report

THE online achievements of businesses, charities and schools across Hertfordshire have been celebrated at the second Hertfordshire Digital Awards.

Accolades across 15 categories including “Website”, “Blog” and “Use of Social Media for Business” were presented to deserving organisations at the University of Hertfordshire, Hatfield, on September 22.

Compering the event was former BBC broadcaster Robin Bailey who presented Gold, Silver and Bronze prizes to a host of worthy winners.

Special guests included Tim Dunton, from the headline sponsor Nimbus Hosting, Tom Shurville of Associate Sponsor, Distinctly, Carole Luck from Hertfordshire Chamber of Commerce, Ian Webber of Lexus Hatfield and James Selby from the Department for International Trade.

Bishops Stortford College saw double after scooping Gold in the flagship “Website” category and in “Website: School, Education or Charity”.

Also walking away with two top-placed accolades were Stevenage-based design agency Tutch Media who won Gold in “Website: B2B” for their work on behalf of Oakmont Construction and in the “Website: Lifestyle & Culture” for Wildgoose.

Red Bullet landed the top Award in the “Website: Tourism & Hospitality” classification for its Visit Hertfordshire website design and Fluid Studios, from Baldock, won Gold in the “Use of Social Media for Business” area.

Online poetry and gift retailer Bespoke Verse, in Berkhamsted, made it a third double-haul by claiming Gold in the “Online Retailer” and “Website: Marketing & Creative” sections.

Leading the way in the “Blog” category was Deep Phat Digital and the plaudits went to Elstree studio Cincera in “Use of Video for Business”.

Watford retailer 1,000 Mile Sportswear by The Creative Clinic landed Gold in “Website: Sports & Entertainment”.

It was also backed by the Mercury, Lexus Hatfield, Hertfordshire Local Enterprise Partnership, Hertfordshire Chamber of Commerce, the Department for International Trade and Capricorn Media.

Also victorious were Harpenden and Hitchin’s Lyndhurst Financial Management in “Responsive Website”, and Holiday Tots by Advanced Web Designs, in Hertford, for “Website: Small Business”.

There was also a ‘Spirit of Hertfordshire’ award which was handed to the film and TV centre Elstree Studios, the home of Star Wars and Strictly Come Dancing, who were commended for ‘going above and beyond the call of duty for the betterment and promotion of Hertfordshire’ through their digital work.

SURREY: SDA17 Open For Entry

The Surrey Digital Awards 2017 is now open for entry.

Businesses, charities and schools can now enter the 14 open categories for SDA17 and entry is free and easy to complete.

The scheme was set-up two years ago to recognise the online achievements of organisations across the county.

It is open to businesses from any industry that are based within the Surrey.

Designers based in Surrey are also allowed to submit their client’s work even if their client is based outside of the county.

The categories for SDA17 are:-
