Charities, schools and businesses across Kent have been recognised for their progressive online work at the third annual Kent Digital Awards.

Accolades across 14 categories including “Website”, “Mobile App” and “Use of Social Media for Business” were presented to outstanding organisations at Ashford International Hotel on June 1.

Former BBC broadcaster Robin Bailey hosted and handed Gold, Silver and Bronze prizes to a host of worthy winners.

Special guests included Pete Kenyon, from Headline Sponsor Cripps, Mark Dance, Cabinet Minister for Economic Development at Kent County Council, Stuart Tanton of The Kent Foundation, and Clare Reeves of Clare Reeves Voiceovers, all of whom presented awards.

“What a sensational celebration the Kent Digital Awards has been once again and thank you so much to Cripps for getting behind it in such a big way.

KENT: Kent County Council Backs KDA16

Kent County Council has joined forces with the KDAs as “Key Supporter” of the scheme.

The local authority – based at County Hall in Maidstone – has given its backing to the Awards as part of a programme to support the growth of Kent’s digital economy.

The Council joins West Kent Chamber of Commerce & Industry, also a Key Supporter, and Kent & Sussex Courier, the Media Partner who are providing rolling coverage of the KDAs.

Mark Dance, Cabinet Member for Economic Development, at Kent County Council said: “We are delighted to be involved with the Kent Digital Awards, a scheme that offers a platform to businesses, schools and charities for their online work.

“Digital media and skills are now at the heart of Kent’s business community and we are committed to supporting that through a range of relevant programmes now and in the years ahead.

“We wish all finalists of KDA16 the very best of luck at the upcoming Awards and we look forward to meeting so many progressive organisations on the night.”

Robin Bailey, Chairman of the KDA16 Judging Panel, said it was “great news” to receive the backing of Kent County Council.

He added: “Since launching in 2014, the KDAs has been immensely popular amongst businesses, charities and schools across the county.

“Kent County Council’s involvement is a tremendous indication of the significance of these Awards which are highly competitive and now much sought after as a symbol of success in Kent.”

Sponsors of KDA16 include Sleeping Giant Media and Capricorn Media.

The KDA16 Presentation Evening takes place Brands Hatch Motorsport Vision Centre on June 23.
