A ground-breaking new awards scheme that recognises the online achievements of businesses, schools and charities from across Kent, has been backed by some of the county’s leading newspapers.
The Kent Digital Awards (KDAs) – which offers gold, silver and bronze prizes for excellence across ten categories – revealed this week that they have entered a partnership with two newspaper groups which will support the competition.
The Courier Media Group, which owns the Kent & Sussex Courier and Sevenoaks Chronicle, and the Kent Regional News & Media Group which counts the Canterbury Times, Isle of Thanet Gazette, Folkestone Herald and Dover Express among its portfolio of weekly titles have all signed up as media partners for the scheme.
The Maidstone and Medway News will also support the KDAs and all seven newspapers will provide rolling coverage until after the Winners’ Evening in June 2015.
It is the first time that organisations from Kent will be able to compete for a range of accolades based solely upon their work online and entry into the scheme opened on October 1, 2014.
The KDAs are free to enter and it takes less than two minutes to complete an online application at www.surreydigitalawards.co.uk
“Use of Social Media”, “Website” and “Mobile App” are just three of the categories to be judged by an independent panel of experts from the digital arena.
The other categories include “Use of Video For Business”, “Online Marketing Campaign”, “School, Education or Charity Website”, “Responsive Website”, “Small Business Website” and the blue ribbon accolade for “Online Business”.
Andy Pritchard, from Premio64, the organisation behind the awards said: “We are very excited about working with two media groups which own such a strong stable of Kent newspapers.
“To have so many leading newspaper brands, which are themselves leading the way with their online news service within Kent, is a superb fit for us.”
Entries can now be made for free in less than two minutes at www.kentdigiawards.co.uk/enter
The closing date for entries is April 17, 2015 and a special awards evening will be held on June 18.
Details of the venue will be unveiled exclusively on www.kentdigiawards.co.uk shortly.
