In recent years a lot of attention has been focussed on China, Japan and South East Asia as emerging hubs for gaming. These Asian countries draw a lot of attention because of the sheer numbers they have. But there is another small bloc of countries which has captured the attention of gaming enthusiasts around the world – the Nordics. This includes countries like Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Iceland, and Norway. It also includes their associated territories. There are some strong reasons for this. The first is their much-vaunted education system that is the envy of the world. The rich history of technological innovation is another major factor. That is why the Nordic countries have become the hub of game development over the years. If you pick a few random names like Angry Birds, Clash of Clans, Candy Crush Saga, or even Battlefield, they have one thing in common. They have all originated from the Nordic region.
About the EGR Nordics Awards
That is why it wasn’t surprising that EGR magazine decided to organize an annual Awards ceremony specific to the Nordic region. This is the EGR Nordics Awards. Nordic people have technological prowess, and they also have kinship and solidarity. In every activity, they help each other to grow. EGA Nordics Awards aims to provide a great platform for the Scandinavian region. This would include gaming companies, enthusiasts, and players. This would enable mutual benefit from networking. The list of Awards categories reveals the stated goals of EGA Nordics Awards. Commercial success is, expectedly, one of the important parameters. But the quality of marketing messaging has also been considered. And so has been excellence in customer service. On top of all this, relentless innovation also seeks to be recognized.

A flashback to the EGR Nordics Awards 2019

How to enter
The nominations for the 2020 EGR Nordics Awards are still open, and will close on 30th September 2019 (next Monday). Till then, the entrants can submit their names for different categories. A summary of the different products or services is to be provided, in as much detail as possible. There are different criteria that the panel of judges would be looking at. Your product or service must be innovative, scalable, well integrated, and reliable. It must provide a friendly user interface and memorable user experience. The judges would also want to understand whether your business model and product/service delivery is sustainable or not. For this reason you will need to submit financial numbers as well. The overall submission must be within 1000 words. Please read the scoring rubric for each category carefully, and provide details accordingly. You can enter multiple categories, but a separate form needs to be submitted for each category.

The Awards categories in the January 2020 Awards ceremony of EGR Nordics is a bouquet of excellence in various fields related to gaming. As we described in the previous section, a winner needs to display excellence in a few particular areas to be able to get the crown.
