International Gaming Awards
The International Gaming Awards has been the benchmark for gaming recognition since 2008. We , at thedigitalawards, rate them very highly. The next year’s awards in February 2020 assume even more significance because the first such awards were also given away in London 11 years back. Since then, the International Gaming Awards have brought together the best of both worlds. These Awards are attended by igaming industry insiders. Discerning and appreciative clients are also part of the attendance. The participants are usually from both ends of the spectrum – the land based casinos as well as the online igaming software providers. These awards are built around the contents and opinions of a popular online e-zine called The iGaming Post. It is through this online publication that gaming enthusiasts stay in touch with latest developments. It also helps them stay in touch with each other. This helps the organizers in planning the annual International Gaming Awards gala night.

Women in Gaming
In the year 2019, we also had another good Awards ceremony on the side-lines of the IGA 2019. This was the WiG (Women in Gaming) & Employee Wellbeing Awards. It was begun just two years after the first IDA ceremony in 2008. Since then it has been organized every year in parallel to IGA. In 2019, it was held at the venue of the 2020 IGA – The Savoy Hotel, London. It tries to recognize and honor people of diverse inclinations who have excelled in the field of iGaming. This award also seeks to close the gender gap that, sadly, still exists in the gaming industry in the 1st century. For 2019, the event was organized on 16th May, 2019.
Gaming has moved on to mobiles in a big way. People do not always go to casinos or download on their desktops or laptops when they wish to play. A lot of gaming is now done on smartphones. And for that to happen, a number of exciting mobile applications (apps) are being used. To honor the creators of such apps, IGA has also begun an Award since 2015. The Award categories for these awards are slightly different, like App of The Year, Best Casino App, and Best Free to Play App.
